Grand Theft Auto VI releases on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It is set in the state of Leonida — Rockstar's Florida — and follows two protagonists, Jason and Lucia. This page collects every fact worth knowing and labels each one by how solid it actually is.

When does GTA 6 come out?

Rockstar announced the date on November 6, 2025, moving the game from its earlier 2025 window. It has held since. Pre-load opens November 12, 2026, one week before launch.

What platforms is GTA 6 on?

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at launch. Confirmed

There is no PS4 or Xbox One version. Rockstar has said the game plays best on PlayStation 5, and gameplay shown in the Extended Look was captured on a standard PS5 rather than a high-end PC.

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?

Not at launch, and Rockstar has not announced a PC release date. Unconfirmed

Every recent Rockstar title has reached PC after its console launch — GTA V took roughly 19 months, Red Dead Redemption 2 about 13. That pattern is precedent, not an announcement. No PC version, date or price has been confirmed.

How much does GTA 6 cost?

$79.99 for the standard edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition in the US. Reported

Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026. The Ultimate Edition adds an in-game collection of vehicles, weapons and apparel threaded through Jason and Lucia's story. Regional pricing varies; check your own storefront.

Where is GTA 6 set?

The state of Leonida — Rockstar's version of Florida, centred on Vice City. Confirmed

Leonida spans Vice City and its suburbs, the Leonida Keys island chain, the Grassrivers wetlands, the sugar-town of Ambrosia, the Panhandle town of Port Gellhorn, Mount Kalaga National Park and the backroads counties between them.

Who are the GTA 6 protagonists?

Jason and Lucia, a criminal couple, playable as a pair. Confirmed

Rockstar frames them as two people who know the deck is stacked against them, pulled into a conspiracy stretching across Leonida after a score goes wrong. They have individual profiles and a relationship that the player can build up or ignore.

How big is the GTA 6 map?

Rockstar has never published a size figure. Any square-mileage number you have seen is an estimate, not a confirmation. Unconfirmed

A creator preview at Rockstar North described the map as roughly twice the size of GTA V and three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2, with Vice City itself about double Los Santos. Those are relative descriptions from a hands-off session — not measurements, and not from Rockstar. The precise km² figures circulating online come from datamined and leaked builds; we don't repeat them.

When can I pre-load GTA 6?

Pre-load opens November 12, 2026 — one week before launch. Confirmed

Physical copies ship from the same date and contain a download code, so disc buyers can pre-load too. Rockstar has not yet announced the exact unlock time on launch day.

The regions of Leonida

Seven regions are confirmed so far, with 36 individual locations documented from official footage.

  • Vice City

    Vice City is GTA 6's main city — Leonida's neon coast, modeled on Miami: the downtown grid, Little Cuba, the Bayside waterfront, VC Port and the art-deco Ocean Beach barrier island across the bay.

  • Leonida Keys

    The Leonida Keys are the island chain hanging off Leonida's south-west corner, connected by a single long causeway — the game's Florida Keys.

  • Grassrivers

    Grassrivers is Leonida's Everglades: a mangrove wetland crossed by exactly one road, best traveled by airboat.

  • Ambrosia

    Ambrosia is a company town in central Leonida, ringed by burning sugar-cane fields near Lake Leonida.

  • Port Gellhorn

    Port Gellhorn is the Panhandle town in Leonida's far north-west — faded resort strip, run-down cabaret, empty strip malls and a cheap motel.

  • Mount Kalaga

    Mount Kalaga National Park covers Leonida's northern highlands — the wilderness end of the map.

  • Kelly County

    Kelly County is Leonida's backroads interior — long, straight, empty roads and small towns between the coasts.
